How Deanie's Duffles Came About!

Why “Deanie’s Duffles”? My sweet Auntie called me Deanie. While trying to decide on a name for my business, my cousin suggested “Deanie’s Duffles.” I thought it was perfect!

The following was written by my daughter, Kacy, several years ago. This tells you…

How it all began…

It all started with a Christmas gift.

Every year my mom gives her girls a homemade gift. These are always my favorite because they are made with so much love. The year my grandmother past away she made ornaments with her picture in them, one year she made ponchos, and last year she made us purses. At the time none of us had any idea that what started as a gift, would turn into a business.

As we carried the purses, word spread. Friends wanted a purse too. Family members all over Texas were ordering diaper bags, teacher totes and more purses. My mom’s sister is a pastor’s wife and ordered who knows how many to give away as Mother’s Day gifts. It was then that Deanie’s Duffles was born.

My mom does this because she loves it. She’s very talented and puts a personal touch to every bag she makes. The purses started out as Vera Bradley look-a-likes but have grown to be her own. She creates her own pattern for every style and every size. My mom is so humble that she doesn’t realize how talented she truly is. Please help her dream come alive. If you don’t see something you like, you may custom order any style of purse with your own personality attached. If nothing else, please spread the word and tell other people about Deanie’s Duffles—purses and bags homemade in Texas.

So, now you know a little bit of the history behind Deanie’s Duffles!
